ORDINARY MEETINGS1080p, stable exposure and good audio may matter more than 4K.
For routine video meetings, prioritize consistent framing, focus, light correction, microphone behavior and application compatibility. A higher local resolution can still be useful for crops, but many conferencing paths will not transmit the maximum camera resolution.
STREAMING / RECORDING4K can create editing and crop headroom.
If the content is recorded locally, 4K30 can provide more spatial detail for later reframing. Compare storage, CPU/GPU load, encoder settings, lighting and the final delivery resolution. If motion matters more, 1080p60 can be the more relevant MX Brio mode.
DESK DEMOSShow Mode is useful only if the whole desk workflow works.
Consider camera reach, focus distance, desk lighting, keyboard/mouse placement and whether software controls remain convenient while the camera points down. A feature is valuable when it removes real friction, not simply because it exists in the specification list.
SHARED ROOMSA wider field of view can help, but room audio may become the limiting factor.
For more than one person, compare the required field of view, seating distance and microphone pickup with the room’s reverberation and speaker system. A consumer webcam can frame more of the room while still being the wrong audio solution for a large meeting space.
